Färila year 101-104 - Busy Businesses

« previous entry | next entry »

Previously at Färila, Liam was born and grew up to toddler. The business Amelia's was hard to handle, while the gym was easy. Leif and Anita got married.

Färila year 101-104 – Wednesday to Saturday
Leif Hartwig, 76, Popularity/Pleasure, LTW 5 successful businesses
Anita Hartwig, 50, Fortune, 2nd LTW Hand of Poseidon
Gustav Hartwig, 37, Popularity/Knowledge, LTW 20 pet best friends
Lena Hartwig, 37, Romance/Grilled Cheese, LTW Rock God
Birgit Hartwig, 9
Liam Hartwig, 4
Beta, the dog

Leif struggles with his clothes store Amelia’s. He has owned it forever, but have only reached level 8. Today might be the turning point though, since the customer with the mohawk is a reviewer and she seems pleased!
And employee Malin get better in sales.

Leif gets a good review! But in the background we see what j68 suspects is the reason for bad grades for the store – as soon as someone from the staff learns sales they get too pushy and upsets the customers!

Also other strange things happen in the store. Kenny, Leif’s former manager, who messed up the reputation by putting people in the wrong spot, gets hit by lightning INDOORS!
Leif feels it’s best to send him home for the day.
Then he leaves himself too, to go to his beloved gym

The gym has a fantastic reputation. Everybody loves that place!

The loyaly stars pour in without Leif having to do anything. He even has time to work out himself

Even with the evil witch spreading cockroaches, level 10 is easily reached.

With that acheived, Leif decides to go into the real estate business and buys a broker company.

His first customer is Jessica Picaso, known to all simmers

He employs Peter Ottomas, also known

Sebastian Montell gives Leif his first simoleon (for a book) and Love Carlsson tips the business over to level 1

Then we have our first real estate deal -  a townie buys the gym from Leif, and by that he thinks he worked enough for one day and heads home.

Back home, Anita Leif’s second wife, gets promoted to Whale Tracker. Anita is a former townie who lived single for a long time before she hooked up with Leif. She’s many years younger than him, but still in her 50’s.

After some rest it’s time to boost business. Leif buys three new lots, as many as he can get his hands on with the money from the gym. The plan is to sell them with good profit

But first, Liam’s birthday!

Big boy, good party, now – back to business!

Every day’s chore is to go to Amelia’s and work there until the staff cannot take it any more. In best case there will be one loyalty star.

Then move on to the interesting real estate business, which sells itself

Stina Johansson buys IKEA!

And Peter learns some sales

And we have level 3

Leif buys Mattsmyra Sockenkyrka to sell off.
In the background, Peter gets too pushy. J68 advice – don’t let unplayables work sales!

Anton Pitts really brought his big wallet today!

And it seems it was Peter who sold the lots to him!

Time to buy some new stuff

Then try to sell it off with Impress. That interaction works perfectly with sims you know, but very poorly on strangers. It might work also for two-bolters and up even if you don’t know them so well

Oh yes, we have a family at home too. Liam finds that his true hobby is Fitness, and Anita studies for her job.

Back at Amelia’s two of the staff won’t show up for work and the third cost us a loyalty star. As usual at Amelia’s

The real estate business reaches level 4

And the money rolls in. As usual at the real estate business. Max and Jonas are both playable so the lots are sold for real. J68 noticed that when a townie buys the lot, it will be buyable again on the market, but to a different price.

On the home front, Lena is promoted to Studio Musician

And Gustav teaches Liam to study

Leif has started to do all sales himself at Amelia’s and it works a little bit better, but loyalty is still hard to get. But at least Felicia is getting better at check-out, since she saw fit to show up for work today.

And the establishment can at least be used as a meeting point for making friends

The real estate business reaches level 5 and money continues to pour in.

At home, Gustav decides to quit his job as a Mayor. Maybe he will roll a wish for another job and can reach another TOC. If not he can start to pursue his LTW which is to have 20 pet best friends.

He manges to be best friends with the Burlin cat Sara. J68 starts to wonder if the animals need to be alive to fulfill this LTW or if it is a lifelong count. We will probably never know.

He will probably have an easier task to reach the Popularity IW, which is not impossible at all. 30 best friends and 100.000 simoleons are the easiest IW’s there is.

He spends some time with the Montell dog Macke, teaching him some tricks to build relation

Then it’s time for Birgit’s birthday

She rolls pleasure and gets an LTW of becoming a Celebrity Chef.

Outside in the hot tub a scandal is unraveling. Patrik Mellberg (the former mailman) of Roteberg and Jenny Mattsson of Mattsgården fall in love

Birgit gets some new hair which she finds hilarious,

And we have a great party, possibly thanks to Jenny and Patrik…

Business as usual. Misery at Amelia’s, new level at REAL, which we can call Leif’s real estate business.

Back home Leif’s first wife Maja thinks it’s about time he remembers her.

And Lena is promoted to Concert Pianist

Every day Leif goes back to Amelia’s, and slowly slowly it gets one loyalty start here and one there. Still quite a bit to go to level 9…

While REAL sells itself.

The critic comes buy, sprouting loyalty stars and writes a good review

And we have level 7

Back home, Gustav works on Macke’s skills and their relationship

Lena is promoted to Symphony Conductor

Anita is promoted to Deep Sea fisherman and everybody has the flu.

And as a last note, she grows up very well to elder, all alone in the bedroom.

Inhabitants at Färila after round 27:
Leif Hartwig
Anita Hartwig
Gustav Hartwig
Lena Hartwig
Birgit Hartwig
Liam Hartwig

It seems real estate is pretty close to a money cheat. Who would have thought it! Of course, it will be interesting to see when you get back to the families who bought all those lots for more than they were worth. ^_^

You're right, but I didn't think of it as a cheat - they have so much money anyway!
It will be fun to play those spread businesses later - if I remember that they have them :)

I always found the venue type businesses like the gym to be the easiest by far. Usually your sim can just sit back and do nothing at all and the business will be a hit so long as you have enough fun things on the lot for sims to do. I used to have sims start a home business that was a venue then lock the home part away from the business then just let the money roll in as my sims went about their lives, basically ignoring the business.

Might be an idea for another sim than Leif - he is too old to have a home business. He will probably die next round. :(

I have terrible luck with businesses. Hua-Ling's, over in Breeze Point, has taken forever. I think I have managed to get 3 of them up to top level. Funny enough, her clothing store is actually a hit, it's the party supply store that was horrible. Her club is going OK. Still, an interesting round

If I knew what was trigging good or bad businesses my sims would be more successful, I'm sure :)

Probably the same for me. I do wish I was better at businesses.
